Evelyn S. Griste (nee Surran), age 88, of West Chester, PA, recently of West Brandywine, PA passed away on January 8, 2016.
Born in Williamstown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Edna Surran (nee Collins) and sister of the late Virginia Knecht. Her husband, Richard D. Griste, predeceased her.
Evelyn was the loving mother of Susan Griste Russell (Lindsay), Richard D. Griste, Jr (Marie), William E. Griste (Jennifer), and C. Bradford Griste (Erica); loving grandmother of Daniel Russell, Emma Griste, R. Feild Russell, Christopher Griste, Liam Griste, Kristina Griste, Victoria Griste and Adam Griste.
Evelyn loved to cook, entertain and travel. She lived in and traveled throughout Europe, vacationed in Cape May and had many stories and memories to share. Evelyn was involved in Lenten Luncheons at Westminster Presbyterian Church and was active for years with the Chester County Hospital Auxiliary.
Relatives and friends are invited to Westminster Presbyterian Church, to greet the family at 10:00 AM and to attend her Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Private Interment, Westminster Presbyterian Memorial Garden.
