Evelyn Murphy

Evelyn Murphy (nee Verrecchia), age 92, of Drexel Hill, PA, formerly of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on January 8, 2022.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Laura Verrecchia.

Evelyn was a graduate of Southern High School in Philadelphia, PA.  She had been employed as an Administrative Assistant for the United States Government.

Evelyn was a longtime parishioner of St. Laurence Church and was a member of The Laurentians.   She loved spending time with her family and vacationing with them in Sea Isle, NJ.   She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and loved her Manhattans.

Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene T. Murphy and her siblings Salvatore Verrecchia, Vincent Verrecchia and Doris Cotter.

Evelyn is survived by her loving children Dee Cleary (Bill), Kathi Boudwin (Dan), Gale Concannon (Mark), Eugene Murphy (Patti), Joe Murphy (Terry), Mary Beth Sharkey (Mark), Drew Murphy (Liz), Lynn Becker (John) and Tommy Murphy, her 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.   Also survived by her sister-in-law Cathleen Albertus and her brother-in-law L. Francis Murphy (Elaine).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, January 14, 2022 10:00 AM-12 Noon at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA and to her Funeral Mass at 12 Noon.   Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
