F. Raymond Shay, age 82, a life-long resident of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on November 25, 2014. Born in Ventnor, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lorena Shay (nee Burns). He was a graduate of West Catholic Boys High School and Drexel University, both in Philadelphia. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Shay served in many elected and appointed positions in Upper Darby Township. His last elected position was as Mayor of Upper Darby Township. Prior positions included Chief Administrative Officer and Council member. He was also a Past President of the 69th Street Athletic Association
He is survived by his beloved wife Margaret Shay (nee Bobst), his children Raymond (Mary Ann), Ann Lucci (Joe), Lawrence (Joyce), Timothy (Vicki) and Michael (Lynn). Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
