Filipinas Tapnio Vital, MD, age 90, of Broomall, PA, passed away on January 28, 2023.
Born in Mexico, Province of Pampanga, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Emilio Ocampo and Geronima Ordonez Tapnio.
Filipinas received her medical degree from Far Eastern University, Manila Philippines. She had a passion for helping others by serving as a physician in the fields of Family Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology for 66 years.
Filipinas was the beloved wife of Ray C. Vital; the loving mother of Vilsonn T. Vital (Susan),, Vilma T. Vital, Vides T. Vital-Westcott (Chris) , and Vonn T. Vital (Dinell). She was the devoted grandmother of Victoria Gardiner, Amanda Gardiner-Jackson, Matthew Vital, Kristen Vital-Farrell, Sarah Vital, Michael Vital, Erica Westcott, Rachel Westcott, Nicole Westcott, Jordan D. Vital, Lauryn Hughes and John Gensel. She was the caring great-grandmother of Chase S. Hemmerich, Conner L. Hemmerich, Jaxon J. Hemmerich, Magnus A. Jackson, Evolet L. Jackson, Savannah Hughes and Stephen Hughes. Filipinas is also survived by her siblings, Teresita Reyna, Dr. Rogelio Tapnio, Luz Tapnio, Lillian Tapnio, Fredesvinda Tan, Renato Tapnio, Dr. Lysandro Tapnio, Eleanor Allen, and Dr. Cezar Tapnio.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Thursday, February 2, 2023, 9:00 to 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by her Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM. Interment SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
