Florence Finnerty

Florence T. Finnerty (nee Gallagher), age 90, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA passed on February 19, 2019 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Bridget Florence (McCole) Gallagher.

Florence worked at the Temple School of Business and Management as an Administrative Assistant and was awarded the "University Ambassador of Goodwill."

Prior to working at Temple University, she was a stay-at-home Mom who also helped manage the family business.

Florence was a very religious person with a strong faith in God. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, baking, calligraphy, word puzzles, keeping the Irish traditions alive, and learning new things.

She was a very family oriented and loved taking care of them.

Florence was the beloved wife of the late John Finnerty; the loving mother of Jack (Amalfi), Michael J. (Sheri), Mary T. Finnerty, Thomas P. (Judy), Patricia A. Blessington (Michael), Florence M. Haney (Michael), Katherine R. Kaiser (Brian), and Colleen M. McVeigh (Eamon); the loving grandmother of Brandon, Dana, Denene, Darra, Sean, Tom, Kate, Natalie, Megan, Corinne, Jillian, Finn, Colton, Chelsea, Chase, Christian and Pearse and the devoted great-grandmother of Sean, Caitlin, Aine, Bryce, Caia, Tommy, Anna; and cherished great-great-grandmother of Ava.

Florence was the sister of Rev. Dennis, O.S.A., William (Mary), Thomas (Marilyn), Bobby and the late Rosemary McNulty (Charles), Leo (Mary Agnes) and Patsy Bruce (Bob); Patrick McCole (Catherine); and step-mother Anne Gallagher. She was also predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Maeve. She is also survived by her dog, Joey.
