Florence L. Miles

Florence Louise Miles, 92, of Downingtown, passed away on April 28, 2023, after living a full life in her beloved Chester County.

Florence was born on November 2, 1930, to Esther and Edward Hartshorne of West Chester.  After graduating from Henderson High School in 1948 she remained in the area and married William Miles (deceased) and started a family. 

Florence and William had four children: Linda Louise, Randolph Elliott, Garry William and Deborah Yvonne (deceased).  It was then that Florence decided to dedicate herself to being the best wife and mother. 

Florence is predeceased by her brothers Clifford and Edward.  She is survived by her children; Linda, Randolph, and Garry. She had the chance to love and care for her grandchildren; Kenneth Brown Jr., Stephanie Brown, Shannon Miles and Brad Miles.  She also was beloved by her great-grandchildren; Austin Clark, Kenneth Brown III, Michael Brown, Sadie Bond, Oliver Bond.  Also survived by sisters, Nancy Smith and Johanna Klein. 

Florence had many hobbies and was most passionate about crocheting, baking, she enjoyed reading and a good word search.  She also enjoyed spending time with family and her girlfriends whenever she could.  Florence loved to travel with William, and they went on many cruises and trips together throughout the years.  She also loved to go shopping with her daughter Linda on a weekly basis.  Florence brought life to every room she entered.  She loved to laugh and joke whenever she could.  We will miss her greatly.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Donohue Funeral Home in West Chester. 

There will be a private service for family members.
