Flossie Marie Bridge, 88, of Freedom Village, Coatesville left this earth to be with her Savior on Good Friday.
She was born in Uniontown, PA to Bucher and Mary Palmer on August 28, 1931. She graduated from Latrobe Hospital Nursing School with an RN degree. She married Lawrence (Larry) E. Bridge in June 1953.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, and six children, Patricia L. Bohn (Bob DeSanto), Jerome F. Bridge, Lawrence M. Bridge (Kim Meyers), Virginia A. Koehler (Andy), Diana L. Brink (Mark), and Edward B. Bridge (Lisa), along with 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Flossie moved to many different places in the United States during her life with Larry. Most of her six children were born in different areas of the country. Flossie loved being a wife, mother, grandmom and great grandmom. She loved sharing Jesus with all of her children and grandchildren, sewing, painting, cooking, baking and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She shared her skills and recipes with all of her family. Flossie was a self-less and generous person, giving of her time and talents as a volunteer. Flossie and Larry surrounded themselves with their family at the holidays including Easter egg hunts, summer picnics, and grandchildren-only New Year's Eve slumber parties.
Flossie will be remembered as a kind and loving person, with an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She shared and encouraged reading the Bible with all of her family. Most children and grandchildren can recite verses that she taught from her heart: “And this hope shall not leave us disappointed. For the love of God has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.” She will be missed by many.
