Frances (Fay) Mary Gregg

Frances (Fay) Mary (née Carter) Gregg of Newtown Square, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the age of 87. Fay was born on February 19, 1936 in King of Prussia, PA and grew up in Ardmore, PA. She graduated from Lower Merion High School and Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing. Fay loved being a nurse and spent her career at Bryn Mawr Hospital, a pediatrician’s office, and as an occupational health nurse at ICI Americas Inc.

Fay was the beloved wife of Howard Gregg and they recently celebrated their 65th Anniversary. They raised their four children in Audubon, PA:  Susan Gregg (Steven Silberberg), Stephen Gregg (Barbara), James Gregg (Melissa LaBarre), and Linda Titanich (David). She loved her nine grandchildren: William Beck, Jr (Lynnette), David Silberberg, Briana Silberberg, Justin Gregg, Jeffrey Titanich, Heather Titanich, Morgan Gregg, Rose Gregg, and Mary Gregg. She adored her four great-grandchildren: William III, John, Charlotte, and Lucy Beck.

Fay enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and making quilts for her family. She was an avid reader, loved the Philadelphia Eagles, and played in a Bridge Club. Fay was proud of her Irish heritage and marched in the St. Patrick’s Day parade with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Loyal Ancient Order of Hibernians.

The family had a boat and enjoyed trips on the Sassafras River in MD. They also spent summers at her parents’ home in North Cape May, NJ. Once Fay and How retired, they bought a camper van and traveled 100 days a year to all 50 US states and every Canadian province. They enjoyed going on cruises in the Caribbean and Alaska, plus many trips to Europe.

Fay and How moved to White Horse Village in Newtown Square, PA where they enjoyed many of the activities. Fay was a member of the quilting club, wine club, walking club, and bocce league as well as being on the Resident Council and volunteering at the thrift store. She was known as the fastest walker and loved to dance.

Fay was welcomed into Heaven by her mother Frances (née Ward) Carter, her stepfather Leonard Hepfer, and her brothers Paul Carter and Richard Carter.

Visitation will be held on August 31, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church (2400 N Providence Rd, Media, PA) followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:45 AM.  Interment to be held privately.
