Frank T. Taggart Sr., age 91, of Secane, PA formerly of Overbrook, went home to the Lord with his loving family at his side on January 19, 2022.
He was the loving Son of the late Charles J. Taggart & Margaret M. (nee Donovan) & loving Brother to the late Charles J. (Joan) Taggart, Joseph W. Taggart, Peggy (Bill) Ferrell & Thomas J. Taggart.
Frank enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War where he proudly served his country from 1950-1953. He retired from the Philadelphia Police Department in 1987, where he served as a dedicated Police Officer for over 30 years. Frank had many hobbies, he loved working out, playing tennis, basketball & baseball with his children, grandsons and nephews, reading, playing the guitar and had a great love for music. One of Frank's favorite past times, was to go get a cup of coffee, hot or cold, he loved it! Frank's life was centered around his love for his wife, children, family members and many friends. He was known for his caring heart, hilarious personality, funny antics, nicknames and devilish laugh. Frank was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back. Frank will be dearly missed by all the hearts he touched.
Frank is survived by his loving wife: Lena Taggart; his beloved children Helena M. (Brendan) O’Connell, Frank T. (Theresa) Taggart, Jr. and Joanne M. (Ed) Sprague, loving sibling: Jack (Kathleen) Taggart. Sisters in law, Bridget A. Taggart and Elizabeth A. Taggart. Grandchildren: Ben, Kaitlin (Tom), Ryan, Luke, Cole, Lauren and Sean. Great Grandchildren, Sienna, Isla and Giles. Frank is also survived by his loving nephew, Joey Ferrell of Springfield, PA. Frank also loved his Honorary Daughter, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and special friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, January 29, from 9:00-10:45 AM followed by a Mass in celebration of Frank’s life, 11:00 AM, at Saint Norbert’s Parish, 50 Leopard Road, Paoli PA 19301. Interment Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
