Frederick Musika, a man known for his kind and generous nature, adventurous spirit, resilience and punctuality, passed away on July 16, 2024. Born on July 5th, 1954, Fred accepted a life full of challenges with determination, with a sense of humor and with a curiosity and passion for whatever captured his imagination. Beloved son of the late George and Mary R. (nee Zaleski) Musika Sr.
Fred is survived by his loving siblings, George Musika (Marie), Daniel Musika (Sonia), and Mary Tzeciak; Uncle to Alex, Laura, Aaron, Lenora and Eric. Great uncle to Gus, Allysa, Braydon, Rosalie and Roman.
....and all the very special friends at Matthew's who appreciated Fred's talents, friendship and humor and who kindly looked out for his wellbeing...our family is eternally grateful.
From a young age Fred was passionate for the rhythms of the drums. Devoted to studying the work of legendary Jazz drummers inspired him to venture to Harlem to hear, meet and study with them and found that they generously shared their knowledge with him.
The lure of the natural world captured Fred and he loved to explore, hike and fish from sleeping under the stars by a trout stream in the Pennsylvania Mountains to fishing trips with his brothers from the Delaware Bay to the Florida Keys. All along the way collecting many specimens of rocks, gems, crystals and fossils. Reading on subjects from the wonders of the Earth to the brilliance of the stars we might imagine him to now be floating on a boat up the mighty Amazon River to complete his dreams.
His loving family and friends will hold dearly to the memories they shared with Fred. His spirit will always remain with all of us.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fred’s visitation Saturday, August 17, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at The Knoetgen-Donohue Funeral Home, 746 Kedron Ave, Morton, PA followed by his funeral service at 11:30 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fred’s name to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
