Gary L. Seymour, age 69, of Chester County, PA, formerly of Sewell, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on August 30, 2019. Gary was the loving husband of Beth L. Seymour (nee Sedlak); devoted father of Laura Lee Paro (Jim) and Travis Seymour (Emily); doting PopPop of Charlotte Hope and Victoria Lee Paro; brother of Betty McNeil; and son of the late Dale and Amy Seymour (nee Secrist).
Gary graduated from the University of Virginia and received a Master’s Degree from Drexel University. He served in the United States Air Force as a Navigator and Electronic Warfare Officer, flying missions on B-52s. He continued serving in the Air Force Reserve where he reached the rank of Captain. Following his military service, he worked as an Electrical Engineer in the aerospace defense industry. Gary and Beth raised their family in South Jersey. In 2014, they moved from South Jersey to Chester County, PA, to be closer to their kids.
Gary loved being in Ocean City, NJ, where the family spent many summers over the years, and most recently at their summer home there. He was an avid fan of Philly sports teams, especially the Phillies and Eagles. Gary loved classic rock music and going to concerts. He always had the latest gadgets and technology and enjoyed his hobby of home brewing beer, visiting breweries, and enjoying craft beers. He made everyone laugh with his quirky sense of humor and his goofy ways. His laugh was contagious. He had a passion for “muscle cars;” his favorite being his Pontiac Trans Am. Most of all, he loved being in the presence of his friends and family, especially his two granddaughters, Charlotte and Victoria. Gary loved his family fiercely and put them above all else. He was a selfless, caring, kind, patient, and fun man, who his family and friends will sorely miss.
A private burial will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery and a Life Celebration with family and friends will be held at home.
