Genevieve Bernice "Gene" Kelly

Genevieve Bernice “Gene” Kelly (née Bonner), age 83, of Springfield, PA, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard P. and Genevieve (née Connell) Bonner.

Gene is survived by her cherished and devoted husband, Edward A. Kelly, Jr.; her loving children, Jeanne Kimberly Roberts (Jim), Genevieve Erin Kelly, and Edward A. Kelly, III; as well as her precious grandchildren, James F. Roberts, Jr. and Caroline K. Roberts. She is predeceased by her brother, Bernard P. Bonner.

The role of matriarch of her family was not just a title, but a calling she embraced with unwavering devotion. She treasured her husband and family dearly and was a guiding force in their lives. Her nurturing spirit, warmth and humor touched all who came into her sphere. 

Among the special memories that Gene leaves behind are the joyful trips to Ortley Beach, NJ, where she shared laughter and warmth by the seaside with her family for many decades. Gene enjoyed keeping up with current events, loved to travel and loved her family pets, especially April, Kate and her “grandpup” Champ. 

Gene leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion and tender love that will live on in the hearts of all those who have been touched by her grace.

Services and interment will be held privately for Gene.
