George A. Chiles of West Chester, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, age 71, after a battle with illness.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hazel Surplus Chiles and Wilford Chiles.
George lived the majority of his life in Delaware County, a graduate of Interboro High School. Upon graduating, George volunteered to join the United States Army. He was awarded a bronze star for valor in combat during the Vietnam War. After the war, George began a 25 year career at BP Oil in Marcus Hook before becoming a contractor.
George loved golf, music, especially Bob Seger, the Doors, and Motown, all Philadelphia sports teams, cracking jokes, cars, especially his Corvette, many dogs over the years, and more than anything, his grandsons. Pop Pop loved you so much.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Myra Adams Chiles; brother, Walter Chiles(Angela); sons, Christopher(Lexy) and Casey(Aryn) Chiles; daughter, Kelly Chiles(Molly); grandsons, Zachariah and Aydan Chiles; and many other relatives.
A military service will be held at Ft. Indiantown Gap 11:30 AM Friday, April 7, 2023.
