George E. Ciarlone, 103, of Downingtown, PA passed away on August 20, 2016 at Tampa General Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport, PA in 1913, he was the son of the late George and Lucy (nee Orifice) Ciarlone.
He was a 1932 graduate of Downingtown High School and a member of the Downingtown Alumni.
George was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board as a Supervisor until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family, Phillies baseball and Notre Dame Football.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where he sang in the choir for 60 years, St. Anthony's Lodge, Amphibious Order of Frogs, a 60 year member of Malvern Retreat, Knights of Columbus and Prime-Timers. He also served on the Downingtown Planning Commission.
He was the beloved husband of Marie L. (nee Fry) Ciarlone; loving father of Janet (Mike) McShane of Chester Springs, George Jr. (Donna) of Tampa, Fl and Thomas (Jackie) of Chester Springs; loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Barbara Rose (nee Duca) Ciarlone; his step-father, Thomas Palandro; brothers Belmont, Leo, Richard, Anthony and Phillip Ciarlone; sisters, Jessie Vadino, Clorinda Montanario and Mary Perley and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to George's Visitation 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 338 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Internment St. Joseph's Cemetery.
