George R. Gantz Sr., 88, of West Chester, PA passed away on June 2, 2023.
Born in 1934 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles V. and Anna (née Slatowski) Gantz.
George served honorably in the US Army. He worked as a Computer Technician for PNC Bank.
He was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, an Eagles season ticket holder for over 3o years and was at the game when they threw snowballs at Santa and enjoyed participating. George was also an avid golfer, who loved going to the gym, enjoyed his TV, solving cryptograms and collecting elephant figurines. He was a true sun worshiper who enjoyed being at the beach, but his true passion was being a wonderful Pop-Pop to his grandkids and spending time with his family.
George was the beloved husband of Barbara Ellen (née Martin) Gantz; loving father of Joseph R. Rimkis (Pam), George R. Jr. (Theresa), Dr. Robert C. Rimkis (Joan), Charles V. (Tina), Dr. Valerie A. Biehl and the late Steven J. Rimkis; proud Pop Pop of 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; dear brother of Ronald Gantz (Mary), Barbara Bonavitacola (late John), Lydia Lill (Ronald) and the late Charles V. Gantz. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his great-grandson, Lleyton Slate.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Monday, June 5, 2023 at Calvary Chapel of Chester Springs, 217 Dowlin Forge Road, Exton, PA 19341 followed by his Funeral Service 11:00 AM. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
