George G. Hattersley, JR., 83, of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully in his sleep, on October 31, 2024 at his home in Newtown Square.
George was born in Upper Darby, PA, in 1941, to the late George G. Hattersley, SR. and Mary (Mae) Hattersley (Santarlasci). After graduating from Upper Darby High School, George enlisted into the United States Army, served his country and was Honorably discharged. He settled into work at the Philadelphia Naval Ship yard as an Iron worker. In a few years he met his future wife Susanne (Susie) Peel. George & Susie married in June of 1968. Raised two girls, Sue and Shayne in Newtown Square.
George was very active, early on, in racing his jeep called UNDONE, collecting antique Disney toys, Mac users group. He enjoyed meeting new people, traveling to new places, he always greeted you with a huge smile.
George was a warm, caring, and generous Pop-pop, Father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. George was predeceased by Mother Mae, Father George SR. He is survived by his Wife Susie, daughters Sue & Shayne, brother Bruce, four grand children, Brooke, Andrew, Nathan and George-Anthony, niece Cathy and nephew Michael. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all. He will be fondly remembered as everyone’s Pop-pop and his famous saying, from Jimmy Buffet. . . “it’s five o’clock some where” !
Relatives & friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday Nov. 9, 2024 at Donohue Funeral Home between 8:00-9:15 AM, continuing respects at St. Anastasia Church between 9:30 -10:30 AM, followed by a memorial Mass service starting at 10:30 AM. Please join us for a luncheon, after Mass, at the Springfield Country Club.
