George Nicholas Hunt, age 63, of Havertown, PA, passed away on December 2, 2016. Born in Lansdowne, PA, George is survived by his father, Joseph Hunt, and his siblings Joe, Cathy, John, Bill, and Jim. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Catherine.
Since 1962 George resided in Havertown, where much of his extended family still live today. George was a graduate of Haverford High School.
For most of George's working life, he was employed in the healthcare field, working with countless of healthcare colleagues and helping to make their work just a bit easier, assuring they had the important clinical equipment and supplies available to provide the best care for their patients. Along the way, George (aka, "Gorgeous George") made more than a few colleagues and patients laugh and smile with his bigger than life personality. George's presence could not go unnoticed. At the hospital, wherever he walked, he was determined to bring a smile to the faces in front of him. He left a jovial impression, this was for sure. George's last employment was with the Jefferson Health System at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.
George had many loving nieces and nephews and marveled at watching each of them grow. He was Uncle George, the funny and gregarious uncle. All of them, Brady, Carolyn, Sara, Drew, Maddie, Nicole, Corey, Sean, and James could not escape Uncle George's good natured antics. His generosity and presence in their lives came from deep within his gigantic heart. From carefully selected Christmas gifts, thoughtful birthday cards, attendance at games and performances, to watching sports, movies, playing video games, and of course, the beloved fishing trips. George treasured his role in their lives, and his memory will no doubt be carried forth in all of their lifetimes. Similarly, before George's own nieces and nephews were born, he had the same effect on many of his own childhood friends' own children through the years.
At gatherings with friends, cousins, and family through the years, George could always be relied on to fill the room with fun, laughter, which have left all with fond memories.
As a son and brother, George's kind-hearted and bigger-than-life presence will be sadly missed.
