George V. Findley, Jr., 92, of Downingtown, PA passed away on January 19, 2014 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.
Born in 1920 in Coatesville, PA, George was the son of the late Edna (Weiler) and George V. Findley, Sr.
George served honorably in the US Army Air Corps from 1939-1946. He was stationed both at Hickam Field, Hawaii and in England.
He worked as a brakeman for the Reading Railroad.
George was predeceased by his wife, Mary T. Fleming.
He was the loving father of Patricia Ciarlone, David Findley, Wayne Findley and the late Michael C. Findley; loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his great-grandchild, Mackenzie Kerns and his siblings, Gerold Findley, Raymond Findley and Doris Travaglini.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Road, Downingtown, PA 19335. Interment Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
