George Raymond Smith, Jr.

George Raymond Smith, Jr. age 62 of Swarthmore, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024 surrounded by love.

George was born March 22^nd, 1962 to the late Gwendolyn (nee Renshaw) Maurer and George Raymond Smith, Sr in Ridley Park, PA. After graduating from Swarthmore High School, he went on to become a veteran of the United States Navy. He ran an auto repair business for over 20 years and worked as a long time mechanic for over 35 years.

George enjoyed playing pool, motorcycling, boating, racing, and spending time with family and friends. Along with watching the Eagles, he was a member of various clubs including the Milmont Republican, the Loyal order of the Moose, and the APA Delco Pool League. 

George was the loving father of George Raymond Smith III and Kristen Smith: Devoted grandfather of George Raymond Smith IV and Vincent Morrison.

He is survived by Mary Smith; siblings: Earl Boland, Debra Alberti, Michelle Johnson, Julia O’Lynn, Lance Maurer, Charles Smith and loving companion Monica Evans. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Annie Shapiro.

George will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A celebration of life will take place in the coming weeks.
