George B. Smith Jr., 86, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on November 30, 2018.
Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1932, he was the son of the late George B. and Margaret (Opie) Smith.
He was the loving father of George B. Smith III (Lisa); devoted grandfather of Brandon Tré Smith (Ragen); great-grandfather of Conner, Parker and Hunter; dear brother of the late Betty Lou Petersen.
George earned his Master of Arts Teaching Degree from University of Pacific and his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. He was a School Teacher in Sacramento, CA and coached football and basketball. He was an NCAA Baseball umpire and a college basketball referee.
He played basketball for University of Florida while studying for his bachelor degree.
He worked for CBS Sports Golf Family and was involved with production and public relations.
George was a proud member of Bala and Llanerch Country Clubs.
Services and interment are private.
