George P. Stewart, 65, of Thorndale, PA, formerly of Yeadon, PA passed away on January 12, 2014 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in 1948 in Philadelphia, PA, George was the son of the late Mary McGonigle and George P. Stewart.
He was a graduate of Yeadon High School.
George was a 4th degree Knight with both the Knight of Columbus Council 590 in Delaware County and Cardinal Dougherty Council for Knights.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and he enjoyed watching Little League Baseball in Caln Township.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carol A. (Chappelle) Stewart.
George was the loving father of Patrick M. Stewart and Kyle W. Stewart.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00 -11:00 AM, Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment All Souls Cemetery, West Brandywine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 555 North Lane, Suite 5010, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
