George Wertz

George J. Wertz, age 81, of Secane, PA, passed away on May 9, 2021.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late George W. and Dorothy Wertz (nee Jordan).

George was a 1958 graduate of John Bartram High School in Philadelphia.   He was employed as a Researcher with the Strategis Assessment Company.

George was a thoughtful, kind, funny individual with a mind of his own.   He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Upper Darby, PA.

George loved traveling throughout the United States, especially Booth Bay, Maine and Ocean City, Maryland.    He enjoyed reading, television, watching NCIS, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Wertz (nee Stidham), his sister-in-law, Lois Marie Johnston, his nieces and nephew Christine Johnston (Joe), John Johnston, Jr. (Alexis) and Kathy Johnston, seven great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-niece and nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Friday, May 14, 2021 10:00-11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  Interment Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA.

Masks are to be worn when visiting the family, to the Funeral Service and Cemetery.   Social Distancing is to be observed.
