Georgia P. Eberly (nee, Carothers), 89, of West Chester, PA passed away on August 12, 2013.
Born in 1923 in Memphis, TN, Georgia was the daughter of Mary Wortley Kirkwood and William Hewitt Carothers, Jr., both deceased.
Georgia was a graduate of Greenwood High School, Memphis, TN, where she was a member of the Belles Club and from Stephens College, Columbia, MO. with an Associate of Arts degree. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Phi Sorority at Stephens. She attended Louisiana Stat University at Baton Rouge, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Georgia was a member of the Delta Cotillion Club and the Delta Debutante Group and was a semi-finalist in the 1948 Maid of Cotton contest at Memphis.
Georgia worked as a Stewardess for Delta Airlines and was a devoted mother to her three sons.
She was a former Daughter of the American Revolution, member of the Mainline Garden Club. She enjoyed genealogy.
In 2003, Georgia was predeceased by her husband, Ralph W. Eberly, whom she married in December 1952.
She was the loving mother of Robert Kirkwood (Janice), William Cary and Phillip Weik Eberly; and loving grandmother of Bryan and Kevin Eberly.
