Gerald Harrison

Gerald Harrison, age 77, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on September 26, 2023. Born in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late Herman and Ann (nee Carmean) Harrison.

As a lifelong activist, heavily influenced by the writings and teachings of Jesus, King, Gandhi and Einstein, Jerry strove to bring about peace and beauty to the world. He was involved in both national and local politics, leaving his mark through years of non-violent demonstrations, and through years of community involvement and volunteerism.

Jerry was proud of his career in biochemistry; was an outstanding pool player, an avid amateur astronomer, a lover of sports, and enjoyed playing the violin and singing karaoke. The Moody Blues held a very special place in his heart; thanks to his son he was able to meet Justin Hayward.

Mostly Jerry loved people. He loved to help people, to have great conversations, and to mentor and share his interests with his family and with all he met. We will all remember him for his kindness.

Gerald was the beloved husband of Dolores Lombardi; loving father of Edythe B. Harrison and Joshua H. Harrison (Fani); caring grandfather of Kacey L. Veeck, Jayson Z. Harrison, and Sofia M. Harrison; devoted brother of Phyllis Light (Jack); predeceased by his cherished siblings, twin sister Lynn and younger brother Jan.
