Gerald G. Verrechio

Gerald “Jerry” G. Verrechio, age 85, passed away August 24, 2024. Beloved son to the late Adolph and Mary (nee Mola) Verrechio.

Gerald is survived by his loving children, Gerald J. Verrechio and Rosemary Grogan (Thomas); Grandchildren, Thomas Grogan, Bryan Grogan (Amanda), Jason Verrechio, Julianna Verrechio, and Kiernan Verrechio; Great-grandchildren, Liam and Octavia; Siblings, John Verrechio (Mary) and Jane Loetell (William). Gerald was predeceased by his dear wife Rosalie (nee Calzaretto) Verrechio.

He retired from Verizon with over 30 years of service. He was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers. Locally, he served as Judge of Elections in Springfield, PA for 30 years. He was an avid sports fan who loved his Phillies and Eagles. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a great friend to many. If he was not spending time with his family, he loved to play bingo.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jerry’s viewing on Thursday, August 29th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2130 Franklin Ave, Morton, PA followed by his funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA.

Jerry and Rosemary would like to invite relatives and friends to a luncheon at the Springfield Country Club following the cemetery to pay tribute to their dad.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gerald’s name to the American Cancer Society -- cancer.org -- would be greatly appreciated.
