Gloria Shreiner

Gloria Shreiner (Schlichtig), age 86, longtime resident of Rosemont and Audubon, PA, passed away on February 9, 2021. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Florence Schlichtig (DePaul).

She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University, PA.

Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles F. Shreiner and her sister Jane R. Burke (Robert D., Robert Jr., Suzanne) She is survived by her three children, Kris Shreiner, David Shreiner, and Stephen Shreiner (Meg, Michael, Lexi, Samantha).

She lived a long, productive life devoted to her family, friends, and career as a bookkeeping professional.  Gloria was a classy, kind lady, who extended herself often to help others. Patient and determined, one could always count on a thoughtful, detailed approach to most anything she was responsible for.  A tremendous listener, her reflective, wise advice aided many.

She cherished spending time with friends and family: her beloved sisters and brothers in law, many nieces and nephews, grand children, cousins, numerous neighbors, co-workers, and extended family. She would always have good words to say about the many people in her life.

Gloria loved to travel. Trips to Latin America, Europe, California, Hawaii and Canada were highlights. Closer to home, Florida and the Jersey Shore provided many fond memories.

In addition to traveling as a couple and living abroad, Gloria relished times dancing with her husband Charles. A diligent reader, her appreciation for art and music rounded out her favorite interests which she squeezed into busy, well managed days.

Gloria Shreiner contributed richly to so many peoples’ lives during her long run.  For that, all of us who knew her, especially her loving family, will be eternally grateful.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life service to be held at St. Thomas of Villanova Main Campus Church, 800 E. Lancaster Avenue, Villanova, PA   on Saturday - February 20, 2021   Visitation at the Church- 9:30 am.    Mass to follow - 10:30 am.  Private Interment on a later date.
