Grant Emerson MacKenzie, age 26, of Martinsburg, WV, formerly of Newtown Square, PA passed away on January 4, 2015.
Born in Wynnewood, PA, Grant was the beloved son of Bruce and Nancy MacKenzie (nee Zeager).
Dear brother of Beth MacKenzie. Loving fiancé of Chelsie Loveless. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Grant packed a lot of life in his short 26 years and made his family extremely proud. His enthusiasm for life was so great and he shared it with many wonderful family and friends. He graduated from Radnor High School(PA) in 2007 and Shippensburg University(PA) in 2012. Grant was more of a listener than a talker, and was always reluctant to talk about himself or brag in any way. It's likely very few people know he committed to and earned a black belt in Karate starting in the fifth grade. He was an EMT and a fire department volunteer, had a commercial driver's and real estate license, was a Park Ranger in NH, was one of the founders and then President of his college fraternity Kappa Delta Phi, was Tech Director for Radnor TV and a leader in the Radnor High School Band. Grant organized several Thanksgiving dinners for a senior center and many families in need. He loved music, being in NH with his family and friends, and out in the old wooden boat on Lake Sunapee. He also loved cars, particularly antiques, and had a growing collection of license plates and road signs. He was recently working on the restoration of a farmhouse with his fiance.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, 9:00 AM-11:00 A.M. St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 (610) 525-3100 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. Interment is private.
