Harold James "Harry" Donahue, 86, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Marlton, NJ, passed away November 24, 2018.
Born November 2, 1932 in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was a son of the late Harold James and Julia (Kelly) Donahue.
Harry worked hard his entire life, starting as a young boy stocking shelves in supermarkets.
After his tour of duty in the army, he sold insurance and became a dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studios.
When his first child was on the way, he became employed by Continental Coffee Co.
Harry worked there as a sales manager for many years.
He found enjoyment in achieving the goal of "closing the deal," while ensuring that the buyer received a good quality product.
He had a successful career in sales until his retirement, and enjoyed his cup of coffee until his very last day.
Harry enjoyed sharing his love of God. He was very active at his parish of Saint Joan of Arc in Marlton, NJ. There he became involved in teaching religious education, Bible classes, RCIA, and at one time was President of the Parish Council.
He loved sitting and reading on the back porch of his house in Marlton.
Harry also enjoyed going to Dunkin Donuts for a cup of coffee and a treat with his friends after weekday mass.
He loved to share his faith and was a faithful servant.
His other interests included classical music, chess, ballroom dancing, chocolate, card playing, history, politics, and theology.
He was a family man.
Harry was the beloved husband of Michele Ann (Verdeur) Donahue; loving father of William Bryan Donahue (Maryellen), and Kelly Michele Boris (Edward); adoring grandfather of Nicholas Alexander Donahue, Emma Michele Boris, and Brandon Edward Boris; and dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings:
Jack Donahue, Pat Brown, Sally Richards; his nephew Tommy, his niece Joan; and his former spouse, Mary Ann (Traina) Donahue.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing, 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, 610-431-9000, and 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 160 Ridge Rd, Chadds Ford, PA 19317, 610-459-2502, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Harry's memory to St. Joan of Arc School, 101 Evans Road, Marlton, New Jersey 08053.
