Harriet Sapnas

Harriet Sapnas (nee Novacon), age 94, of Springfield, PA, passed away on April 8, 2025. Born in Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Olga Novacon (nee Kambouroglou).

Harriet was the beloved wife of the late Anthony “Tony” Sapnas; loving mother of Helen Sapnas, Heidi K. Jackson (the late Byron), and Thomas A. Sapnas (Kathie); adoring grandmother of Juliet Sapnas. Predeceased by her siblings, George Novacon (Jeannette) and Anne Stathis.

After raising her family, in 1974 Harriet began a fulfilling career at Elwyn, Inc. where she was employed for nearly 40 years, officially retiring in 2020 at the age of 89! She was very proud of her career and accomplishments at Elwyn and valued her relationships with both coworkers and clients.

Throughout her life, Harriet was always fashionable and stylish and she maintained her classic fashion sense throughout her life.

Harriet’s favorite relaxation spot was Cape Cod, Mass. where she made wonderful memories visiting and spending time at the beach with her brother and sister in-law, George and Jeannette and nephew Peter, and family. She loved the Cape so much that she eventually bought a vacation home in West Dennis, MA which she owned for over 30 years.

Harriet was very proud of her Greek heritage and was grateful to be able to take her mother back to Greece in 1979 to visit her sisters whom she hadn’t seen in over 50 years.

For the past 12 years of her life, her pride and joy was her beloved granddaughter Juliet, who was the light of her life.

She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who she loved.
