Harry Doonan

Harry James Doonan, age 87, of Sewell, NJ, passed away on July 19, 2020.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James and Anne Doonan (nee Mitchell).

Harry was a 1952 graduate of West Catholic Boys High School in Philadelphia.   Harry served in the United States Army from 1953-1955.  He was employed as a Cargo Supervisor with American Airlines and retired in 1998 with over 30 years of service.

Harry loved Philadelphia sports and was an Eagles season ticket holder for many years.  In his later years, he spent much time watching and managing the Phillies from his home.   He loved Notre Dame University and spent many hours watching their sports teams.   He loved spending time in North Wildwood, NJ with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn Doonan (nee Plank), his son, James Doonan, his siblings James Doonan (Rita), Anne Keohane (John), Mary Doonan and his brother-in-law John Lamb.

He is survived by his loving children Eileen McTague (Daniel) and Steven Doonan (Lynne), his dear grandchildren Kelsey and Sean McTague and his sister-in-law, Gerri Lamb.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family Thursday, July 23, 2020 10:00-11:00 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike (cor. Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.  Interment SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

In accordance with the CDC Guidelines and the State of Pennsylvania, masks are to be worn when visiting the family, the Funeral Service and interment.
