Harry M. Thomas, III, a beloved video editor and dedicated veteran, passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Harry M. Jr. and Dorothy (née Levy) Thomas.
For 38 and a half years, Harry lent his expertise as a video editor to Action News WPVI, where he honed his craft and contributed to the daily storytelling that informed and engaged the community. His keen eye for detail and passion for visual narratives earned him respect among his colleagues and cemented his legacy in the world of broadcast journalism.
A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Harry served honorably during the Vietnam War, where he exemplified bravery and dedication. His military service shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of purpose that translated into all aspects of his life.
Harry was devoted to family and valued lasting friendships. Always living his very active life to the fullest, Harry enjoyed dancing, cruising, the theater, volunteering with the veterans and other community events, keeping in touch with old friends and making new ones. His love, warmth and genuine thoughtfulness touched our lives and many others. We will deeply miss and lovingly remember him forever.
Harry was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn M. (née Miller) Thomas; the loving father of Nicole Thomas; the dear brother of John Thomas (Carol) and Daniel Thomas (Diane). He is also survived by cousin, Isabelle Tuthill, many nieces and nephews, and many angels. He is predeceased by cousin, Arthur Edwards.
Services and interment will be held privately.
