Helen Hartman

Helen R. Hartman, 93, of Newtown Square, Pa and formerly of El Paso, TX and Ann Arbor Michigan passed away on February 8, 2020.

Born in Mexico, Helen attended schools in Mexico, California, San Antonio and El Paso, TX, graduating from UTEP in 1949 with a BA in Spanish.

After the death of her first husband, William R. Raymond and after raising two sons, she returned to school and earned her Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Michigan.

She returned to El Paso and worked as a Branch Librarian until she met John. They were married in 1983 and moved back to PA, then to Avalon, NJ.

She enjoyed reading, travel, crafts and a moderate amount of exercise.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late John C. Hartman; loving mother of Bruce Raymond (Donna) and the late Hal Raymond; caring step-mother of John M. Hartman (Donna Marie), Michael J. Hartman (Patricia), Robert C. Hartman (Marie), Beatrice Hebling (Lawrence), Miriam Radcliff (Bruce), Mark Hartman (Joyce) and Matthew Hartman; devoted grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; dear sister of Elizabeth W. Hays, Mary De La Fuente and Lewis W. Woodul.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday, February 13, 2020 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 N. Providence Rd., Media, PA 19063 followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
