Helen Joan Novielli

Joan Novielli (née Cooney), age 90, of Ridley Park, PA, passed away on September 12^th, 2023.

Joan was the daughter of the late James and Helen (née Griffin) Cooney of Philadelphia. Beloved wife of the late Domenic J. Novielli. She is predeceased by her siblings, James, Mary, Anna, Joseph and Regina.

Joan was the loving mother of the late Rosemarie Julien (Joseph), and is survived by Stephen (Karen), Patricia Bonner (Kevin), Maribeth Moehrle (Thomas), and Joni D’Angelo (Allan). She was devoted to her 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joan would tell everyone that family is the most important thing in your life because it was to her. She worked many years as a hostess at the Fireside Hearth and Strawbridge & Clothier, but her greatest joy was babysitting her grandchildren 2 days a week.

Joan enjoyed cooking & baking for her family and friends, playing cards, going to the casino and traveling with her siblings and friends.

She had a strong devotion to her faith and was a member of St. Madeline Parish for over 68 years and was a member of their Sodality. Joan also volunteered at the church in a number of their ministries.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing, Wednesday, September 20^th, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St Madeline Church, 400 Morton Avenue, Ridley Park, PA 19078, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.  Interment immediately following at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064.
