Helen Rockwell

Helen J. Rockwell, age 96, died on Monday, December 25, 2023.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 22, 1927.   She graduated from Bartram High School in Philadelphia.  

She was a dynamic woman and mother.  She had a career at the Bulletin newspaper until it's closure.  She was wife to William Joseph Rockwell and mother of Diane Yannuzzi (Rockwell) and Karen Rockwell.  She was proud of her Lithuanian heritage and loved Lithuanian foods.  She loved her children, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Rockwell, daughter, Diane Yannuzzi (Rockwell), parents (Kasmir and Adele Tilla); and sister, Francis Stolnis (Tilla). She is survived by her daughter, Karen Rockwell;  sons in law, Robert G. Weiss and Anthony Yannuzzi; grandchildren, Robert Yannuzzi and Kristen Yannuzzi;  great grandchildren, Autumn and Paul, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She loved knitting, crocheting, gardening, was avid reader and when she lost her vision, she was an avid audible book listener loving mysteries!  Loved listening to music especially Robert Goulet, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Dick Haymes, Frank Sinatra.  She believed in never giving up; looking at other avenues to take to make things work out right.  She taught us how to respect everyone.  She and our Lithuanian relatives, taught her children, grandchildren and cousins to appreciate the freedoms we have in our country, helping to understand the history of our ancestors who emigrated from Lithuania.   Her family gained strength, love and gratitude from her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM followed by her Funeral service at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin ave., Morton PA 19070. Interment at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, 1600 Sproul Rd, Springfield PA 19064.
