Helene Halligan

Helene Halligan (nee O’Brien), age 62, of Havertown, PA, passed away on February 4, 2023. Born in Wynnewood, PA, she was the daughter of Patricia (nee Cunningham) and the late John F. O’Brien.

Helene was the beloved wife of Mark Halligan Sr. for 39 years. Devoted mother to Mark Halligan Jr., Lauren (Kevin) Funston, and Kevin Halligan. Cherished grandmother of Jack and James Funston. Dear sister to her siblings Karen Peltier and Kevin (Kelley) O’Brien. 

Helene had been employed as a Registered Nurse for 20 years until she most recently retired to spend time with her grandsons. Her favorite thing to do was to be with those she loved. She treasured her family and friends and embraced every moment with them. She thrived celebrating birthdays and holidays. She loved vacationing in the Poconos and down the shore. Helene had a vivacious personality and always made the people around her laugh. She was always ready to have fun. She was conscientious and always willing to take care of anyone in need. She loved fiercely and loyally.

Lynn Blvd.), Upper Darby, PA (610) 449-0300 and to her Funeral Mass Tuesday, February 14, 2023 10:30 AM at St. Bernadette of Lourdes Church, 1035 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA.  Interment Private.
