It’s with great sadness the Phan family announces the passing of Hellen Phan-Lesti. She passed away peacefully at her home in Hollenbach, Germany on March 19th, 2023. Hellen was surrounded by family that loved her so deeply and to whom she was a source of strength and courage. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Harald, mother Cuc Mai Phan, brothers John Robert and Henry.
Born on December 6th, 1977, Hellen was a passionate lifelong learner and explorer of different cultures. Her compassion for people and the kindness she extended to strangers, coupled with her radiant smile, Hellen was able to connect to others and cultivate enduring relationships along her journey with whom she always remained in close contact with. In her final years living with cancer she refused to let it define her – but rather it refined her. Hellen will be missed dearly, but the relationships and memories she shared will remain with us always.
Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one,
I’d like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun of happy memories
that I leave behind when day is done.
Please join us in remembering and honoring the life of Hellen Phan-Lesti. Family and friends are invited to the services to commemorate our dear wife, daughter, and sister:
