Herbert A. Jahnle, age 87, of West Chester, PA, passed away on March 27, 2017. Born in Isabel, South Dakota he was the son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth M. Jahnle (nee Nehl).
He was the loving husband of the late Susan M. (nee Pasquini). He is survived by his children Richard L. (Grace), Sandra M. and Christopher (Andrea) Jahnle, his sister Jeannette Streight and his nine grandchildren, Erica, Richard, Ryan, Matthew, John, Christopher, Alexandra, Jessica and Michael.
Herbert received his Masters of Science Degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War era. He was employed by The Budd Company for 35 years in Pennsylvania and Michigan. In his last several years with The Budd Company, Herbert served as the Director of the Technical Center located in Auburn Hills, Michigan where he directed research projects relating to material evaluation, manufacturing process development and new product design, analysis and testing for the world's leading automotive companies. He is listed as "Inventor" on numerous U.S. patents relating to automotive industry.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, April 1, 2017 9:30-10:30 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA (610) 353-6300 and to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA.
