Herbert Leonberger
November 10, 1919 — January 5, 2015
Herbert J. Leonberger, age 95, of Tequesta, FL, formerly of Havertown, PA, passed away on January 5, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert J. and Margaret Leonberger (nee Nichols). He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He was employed in sales in the textile industry.
He was an avid golfer and a life member of Llanerch Country Club and a former member of Tequesta Country Club. He loved spending time with his family.
Herbert was predeceased by his wife Mary Margaret Leonberger (nee McMichaels) and his sister Margaret Thompson. He is survived by his daughters Jeanne Goodyear (Robert), Susan Brady, Mary Boyle and Ann Bizzaro (Tony), his 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his nephews Tony and Tom Thompson.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Saturday, January 17, 2015 10:00-11:00 AM Annunciation BVM Church, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or Annunciation BVM Church Sanctuary Guild, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA 19083 address would be appreciated.
