Herman Koehler

Herman Koehler, age 95, passed away on March 3, 2016. Born on June 6, 1920 in Alpirsbach, Germany, he was the last child of 6, along with his mother to immigrate to the United States in the 1930's and rejoin the rest of the immediate family. One of his vivid memories was seeing the Hindenburg fly over New York City on its way to Lakehurst, NJ on its final flight.



Herman received a Bachelor's Degree from New York City College and a law degree from Temple University.



He married his wife, Irene M. Koehler and they moved to the Philadelphia area. She passed away in 1998.



He was a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II working with the Military Police.



Herman is survived by his 5 children Susan Koehler Hennesy, Nancee Koehler McCann, James Koehler, John Koehler and Dorothy Koehler Golden, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
