Hiuling Cheung, 81, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Havertown, PA.
Hiuling was the son of the late Mang Cheung and Wah Siu. He was the beloved husband of Siyue Zheng; loving father of Ying Amelia Cheung Liu and Lee Cheung; loving grandfather to 4 grandchildren, Ethan, Justin, Renee and Elaine; father-in-law of John Liu and Min Zhao. Hiuling is also survived by 7 siblings: Hiu May, Hiu Wan, Hiu To, Hiu Yeung, Hiu Zhi, Hiu Yuen, Hiu Moon. He was predeceased by his brother Hiu Yu.
Hiuling was a retired engineer and lived with his wife Siyue in Philadelphia for over 10 years. He enjoyed swimming and competed in several local Philadelphia Senior Swim Club competitions. He was well known among his friends for his kindness and generosity, frequently volunteering in the Asian Health Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania. At home, Hiuling was a very caring grandfather who taught his grandchildren good family values. To all who knew him, Hiuling spread the message of hope and optimism among his friends and family, always looking towards 'better' days ahead.
