Howard R. Hall, III, age 75, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on May 30, 2016. Born in Hartsville, PA, he was the son of the late Howard R., Jr. and Anna Hall (nee Dager).
Howard received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He was employed as a Classified Advertising Manager for Creative Loafing in Atlanta, GA. He retired in 2006.
He began his career at The Philadelphia Daily News in 1963 and continued there until 1985. Subsequently he managed classified departments at the Newark Star Ledger in Newark, NJ, Suburban Newspapers in St. Louis, MO and the Gwinnett Daily News in Lawrenceville, GA.
Upon retirement and return to the Philadelphia area, he worked part-time at the UPS store in Media, PA and lived with his wife, Patti, in Edgmont, PA.
During the early years of his marriage to Patti D'Angelo, they settled in Lansdowne, Pa with their 2 children, Sany and Eric. Howard became active in the Lansdowne Boys Club as a coach, Board member and President.
He loved building things, working with wood, gardening and fishing. One of the proudest things he did was build and paint the sign that sat over the Boys Club clubhouse for many years.
His children (Sandy and Eric) were the loves of his life. They brought great happiness to his life as they matured, married and pursued careers. Despite some bumps in the road, he always said "We did something right".
His greatest joys in recent years were his grandchildren - Michael (34), Luca (15), Max (14), Alex (14), Kippi (11) and Sukie (10). He loved them dearly and was so proud of all of them.
Howard will be remembered for his extensive knowledge of all kinds of things (which he was always happy to share whether you asked or not), his love of nature, his infamous letter writing but most importantly, his love of family.
Howard was predeceased by his brother Wayne Hall. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia "Patti" D. Hall (nee D'Angelo), his loving children Cassandra "Sandy" (Todd) Murray and H. Eric (Lena Vanier) Hall, his siblings Marian (Paul) Lepard, Carol (the late John) Johnson, 6 grandchildren, his mother-in-law Rita D'Angelo and his nieces, nephews and friends.
