Hubert Prestileo (Hugh) passed away in his home on December 24, 2023. He was the son of Elizabeth & Thomas Prestileo. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Vincent, Edward, & Joseph.
Born on June 19, 1927, Hugh honorably served in the US Army during WWII. After a long recovery from malaria he ventured to California to pursue his interest in aircraft working for Northwest.
While there he of a new helicopter company (Piasecki Helicopter) that was manufacturing in Morton, PA. Now Boeing Aircraft he retired after 42 years and through those years he was awarded numerous awards for developing designs and cost – effective procedures. He continued his interest in flying earning his small aircraft license. Along the way he met a special girl, Rosemarie and a year later they married sharing 69 years. Together they built 2 homes, raised their family, had numerous unusual pets and traveled throughout the US and Europe. He thought his biggest accomplishment was building his first house making him a jack of all trades. Hugh was also very proud of his family.
Hugh was a true patriot and history buff. He led a full life stating he accomplished more than he ever imagined. But without a doubt his biggest joys was babysitting Mondays, winters in Florida with family and “The Breakfast Club”.
He is survived by his wife Roe, his daughter Suzanne and her husband David King, his son Thomas Prestileo and his 2 grandchildren Nathan King and Elizabeth & her husband Eric Lovetri.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-10:30 AM Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 E. Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery.
