Ida Gates

Ida Mae Gates (nee Schramm), 77, of Secane, PA passed away on June 6, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Ida was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Agnes C. (Bucklalew) Schramm. She was very active as an Agent and teaching related courses in the Life Insurance industry and was a member of many insurance Associations, Chairs and Committees. She was the Director of the NAIFA-PA from 1997-2015. Ida received many Industry, National and Special awards and recognitions, including VIP Club, Agent of the Month 7 out of 12 months, Gold Record Club, National Quality Award and National Sales Achievement Award, to name a few. She was also the recipient of the President's Cup, which is the highest honor bestowed upon a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Greater Philadelphia 2009. She was inducted into the NAIFA Hall of Fame Greater Philadelphia in 2009. Ida was very active in her church, St. Cyril's, where she taught 4th grade CCD for 5 years. She loved helping people. Ida was the beloved wife of the late John R. Gates, Sr.; loving mother of John R. Gates, Jr., Karen Shirk (Timothy) and Kathy Pavlovitch (George); devoted grandmother of Alexandria, Brittany, Sarah, Samantha and Nicholas; dear sister of David Schramm, the late Larry, Agnes and Frances.
