Irene Timko

April 23, 1928 - December 22, 2020 (age 92)

Irene Mary Timko (nee Golias), formerly of Edison, N.J., passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020 in West Chester, PA surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 23, 1928 in Tresckow, PA, Irene received an Associates degree from Penn State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Rutgers University College. She was a dedicated and respected elementary and middle school teacher for three decades starting her career at Our Lady of Peace School in Fords, N.J. and retiring from John Adams Middle School in Edison, N.J.

Irene was married to Michael Timko, Jr. (deceased), her loving husband of 70 years, and is survived by sons Robert (Kathleen), Michael (Susan), and Joseph; six grandchildren John (Kimberly), Patricia (Edwin), Charles, Peter, Keenan, and Matthew; and five great grandsons.

Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling, knitting and baking. She and her Christmas cookies and rolls will be missed greatly.

Church services and interment will be private. The family wishes to thank the staff of Arbour Square, West Chester, PA, and Chester County Hospital for their care and compassion.
