Ivy Jean Buchanan (nee McCauley), age 73, of Broomall, PA, formerly of Feasterville, PA, passed away on September 17, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia to the late Robert E. and Ivy K. (nee Porterfield) McCauley, Ivy worked as a Teaching Assistant for the Marple Newtown School District for 35 years.
Ivy was the beloved wife of the late Samuel Risk Buchanan. She is survived by her beloved children Samuel T. Buchanan (Jenny), Barbara Hollish (Lew) and James R. Buchanan (Shannon). She is also survived by adored grandchildren Lewie, Samantha, Megan, Lucas, James and Liam. She was pre-deceased by her brother Robert McCauley.
Ivy enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Master Gardener's Club. She loved swing dancing, reading romance novels and trips with the kids to Linvilla Orchard. She liked being outdoors and when she was growing up, enjoyed riding horses. When her children were young, Ivy took great pleasure in planning trips with her children. She was an active 50 year member of Marple Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and Couples Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation, Wednesday, September 20th from 6:00-8:00 PM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA and to her Funeral Service on Thursday, September 21st at 11:30 AM at The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Interment Forest Hills Cemetery.
