James L. Cherry, Jr., 77, of West Chester, PA passed away on May 28, 2014 at Chester County Hospital.
Born in 1936 in Bellefonte, PA he was the son of the late James Linton and Edna (Hoffman) Cherry.
He was a graduate of Abington High School and Widener University (PMC).
James served honorably as a Lieutenant in the US Navy on board the Intrepid and Wasp aircraft carriers as a HU-2 pilot, and as a structural consulting engineer, was a retired Vice President of Kuljian Corporation, partner of Cherry & Heal, and James L. Cherry, Jr. PE Consultant.
He enjoyed programming, refurbishing Gravely's, target shooting, boating and spending time with his family.
He was the beloved husband for 53 years of Theresa (Canuso); loving father of Lucy McCarthy (Stephen), James L. Cherry, III (Michelle), David Cherry (Donna), Jean Cobourn (Tom), Catherine Moser (Bill); loving grandfather of Julie (Cobourn) Castiglione (Giovanni), Tom Cobourn, Michelle Moser, Bill Moser (Jacky), Jacob Moser, Colleen Cherry, Catherine Cherry, Elizabeth Cherry, Alison Cherry, Madelyn Cherry; dear great-grandfather of Ella Moser and Gianna Castiglione; and dear brother of Dorothy (Cherry) McLatchy of Glenside, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00-11:30 AM Saturday and to his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA, 610-431-9000.
