James W. Cooper, Sr.

James W. Cooper, Sr. “Coop”, age 77, of Parkesburg, PA, formerly of Newtown Square, passed away on March 11, 2023.

Born in Darby, PA, he was the son of the late Elwood J. and Helen V. Cooper (nee Bridegam).

Jim was a Veteran of the United States Army. He worked for PECO as a welder for 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending his time outdoors and with his family. Jim also participated in reenactments of historical events.

Jim was the beloved husband of Mary E. Cooper (nee Steinmetz) for 56 wonderful years; loving father of James W. Cooper, Jr. (Wendy), Cheryl L. McDevitt (Patrick), and Michael J. Cooper (Marcia); adoring grandfather of Kristy Russell, Brendan Cooper, Haley McDevitt, and Patrick McDevitt; and devoted brother of Kathryn MacQueen and Dolores Roehrig and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Greet the family 9:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382, followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Int. Private.
