James Joseph "Jim" Costigan, age 83, of Media, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 26, 2019.
He was born the eldest son to the late James and Mary (nee Verano) Costigan of Darby, PA on July 17, 1935. He attended Blessed Virgin Mary grade school and West Catholic High School where he excelled in football and building lifelong relationships.
Jim was a father figure to all who worked for him over the years in both the hair salon and general contracting businesses he proudly owned and operated. Jim attended Villanova University in 1954 before entering the US Marine Corps, where he served his country honorably.
Aside from spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed spending summers at his home in Wildwood Crest, NJ and traveling around the world.
Jim was the beloved husband of Jane (nee Weinmann) Costigan. Jim and Jane married nearly 60 years ago and raised their four children in Havertown, PA. Jim was the adoring father of Kim Costigan Razzano, Kelly Costigan, Kristen Rushton (Scott) and James Costigan. He treasured the lives of his thirteen grandchildren:
Jerry Razzano, Audrey Stewart (Jarrod), Ashley Razzano, Vince Razzano, Brittany LeCureux (Marc), Shayne Schwartz (Lydia), Chelsie Schwartz, Scott Rushton, Matt Rushton, Ali Rushton, Chris Rushton, Sean Rushton and Julia Rushton. He was the loving brother of Shirley Phillis (John), Donna Wigmore (Larry) and the late Albert Costigan and was brother-in-law to William and Judy Weinmann and the late Christopher Weinmann. Jim had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
