James V. Elduff, 96, formerly of St. Davids, PA, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Phoebe Health Care, Wernersville, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia L. Elduff.
James was a decorated combat pilot in command of a B-17 Flying Fortress, during WWII, flying 44 missions. He volunteered to serve in the Korean War and served as captain. After his military service, he graduated from Drexel University and worked as a nuclear engineer.
James is survived by his eight children, sons, James E. (Mary), Stephen, Brian, and John (Anne Marie), and daughters, Susanne Elduff, Elaine Oates, Kathleen Baron, and Alice Ann (William) McElwee. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael (Hallie), John II, Samantha, Sabrina, and David, and two great grandchildren, Faye and Theodore.
Viewings will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 9:00 am - 10:00 am at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 W. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, PA (610) 989-9600. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Strafford, PA. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
