James Feeney

August 31, 1935 — August 30, 2017

James "Jim" Feeney of West Chester, formerly of Drexel Hill, passed away peacefully and surrounded in love by his family on August 30.



Born on August 31, 1935 and raised in Lansdowne, Jim was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Feeney. He was a graduate of West Philadelphia Catholic High School ('53) and Villanova University ('57), and worked for General Accident Insurance in Center City Philadelphia for 30 years before his retirement in 1997. Following his retirement, he most enjoyed spending time with his family. He also volunteered with local senior centers and Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, which records textbooks for individuals with visual, learning, or physical disabilities.



Jim is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia Feeney (nee Simcox); his children, Stephen (Christine) and Caryn Feeney; and three beautiful grandchildren who meant the world to him

Allie, Matt and Sam. He is also survived by his sister Mary Patricia Feeney and an extended family of in-laws and nephews whom he held close to his heart.



Those closest to Jim wish him to be remembered for his strong faith in God, his quick wit, and his love of all things sports

-

especially his alma mater Villanova Wildcats and the Philadelphia Phillies. Above all else, he should be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, which keeps us close and brings us together in remembering him now. Jim will be missed, but will remain always in our hearts.



Relatives and friends are invited to Jim's Visitation at 9:00 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 East Pleasant Grove Road, West Chester, PA 19382. Interment will be private.



In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory can be made to: Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
